Upgrading Your Tickets
Learn how ticket upgrades work on Streets, including eligibility, payment, and what happens to your original order.
If an event curator allows ticket upgrades, you can replace your entire unused order with a different ticket selection. You pay the price difference, tax on that difference, and a ticket upgrade fee. Streets Credit cannot be used.
A ticket upgrade is not a partial swap. After you pay, every ticket in the original order is voided and replacement tickets are issued. Those replacement tickets cannot be resold or upgraded again.
How ticket upgrades work
The process is completed in the Streets app from your order details:
- Open the order and tap Upgrade tickets
- Choose a complete replacement selection. The replacement subtotal must be equal to or greater than your original ticket subtotal, and it cannot be the same combination of tickets.
- Review the Ticket Upgrade Policy and request a verification code
- Enter the code sent to your account email
- Pay the difference, tax on the difference, and the disclosed upgrade fee
Who can upgrade
Upgrade tickets appears on an order only when all of these are true:
- The event curator turned on Allow Ticket Upgrades for the event
- You still own the original order
- Every ticket in the order is unused and unscanned
- The order is not a party, reservation, transferred, resale, refunded, voided, or previously upgraded order
- Replacement ticket types that collect attendee responses are not available for upgrades
- Inventory, event cutoff times, and per-ticket limits still apply
Start an upgrade
From the Streets app:
- Open Tickets and select the event order
- Tap Upgrade tickets
- If you already started an upgrade, Streets resumes the pending quote instead of creating a new one
Choose replacement tickets
Select the full set of tickets you want to keep for this event.
- You cannot keep only part of the original order
- The replacement subtotal cannot be lower than the original ticket subtotal
- Choosing the same ticket types and quantities is not an upgrade
- Party, reservation, door, offline, and insider-only tickets are not offered as replacements
Verification and payment
Before payment, Streets holds inventory and emails a 6-digit verification code to your account email. The code confirms the replacement you selected and the Ticket Upgrade Policy.
- Quotes and inventory holds expire. Prices and availability can change if you wait too long.
- You pay the ticket price difference plus the upgrade fee
- Tax is charged only on a positive ticket price difference
- The upgrade fee is not taxable
- Streets Credit cannot be applied to an upgrade
After you pay
The upgrade is complete only after payment succeeds and the replacement tickets appear in your account.
- Original tickets are void and cannot be scanned, transferred, refunded separately, or used
- Replacement tickets appear as a new order. You can open the original order from the upgrade status on the new tickets, and the other way around.
- Replacement tickets cannot be resold or upgraded again
- The upgrade fee is a non-refundable platform fee. If the event is cancelled and Streets issues a full customer refund, amounts paid on the original and upgrade charges are refunded according to the Ticket Upgrade Policy.
For event organizers
Turn on Allow Ticket Upgrades in the event ticket settings. Buyers can then replace a whole eligible order for that event. The replacement subtotal cannot be lower, and they pay the difference, tax on the difference, and the upgrade fee.
Troubleshooting
I do not see Upgrade tickets
If the option is missing:
- The curator may not have enabled upgrades for this event
- A ticket may already be used, scanned, transferred, listed for resale, refunded, or part of a party or reservation order
- The order may already have been upgraded
- Ticket upgrades may be turned off for the app in your region
I did not receive a verification code
Check the email on your Streets account, including spam. You can request a new code from the upgrade screen. A verification code does not reserve tickets forever - if the hold expires, start the upgrade again.
Payment did not go through
If payment fails or is cancelled, no upgrade is completed and any temporary inventory hold is released. Your original tickets stay valid. Open the order and try again.
Ticket Upgrade Policy
Upgrades are final. By entering the verification code and paying, you authorize Streets to void the complete original order and issue the selected replacement tickets. Read the full policy before you continue.
